Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

This policy explains what personal information Border Pets collects, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short and only collect what the site needs.

Who we are

Border Pets (borderpets.pages.dev) is an independent project run by an individual based in Vietnam. For this policy, Border Pets is the data controller. Contact: borderpetsinfo@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

  • Route check and plan preview. The free route check and the plan preview are calculated in your browser. We don't receive what you enter there unless you submit a form or start checkout.
  • Early-access and route requests. When you submit one of our forms we receive your email address, the route and travel month you enter, the page you used, the link or campaign tag that brought you to the site (if any), the time, and your approximate country (derived by our host from your IP address). We use this to email you when the personal plan launches, to send the early-access discount and to decide which routes to add next. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Unlocking a personal plan. When you press "Unlock my plan" we receive the route, pet type, pet name (optional), travel date, whether you ticked "short-nosed breed", your approximate country and the campaign tag, and we create a random plan ID. We use this to set up checkout and to show you your plan afterwards. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before and to perform our contract with you.
  • Payments. Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email, billing and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive the order number, your email, the amount and the payment status so we can unlock your plan and help with support or refunds. We never see your card details. Legal basis: contract and our legal obligations.
  • Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages and sources are popular. It does not use cookies, does not build a profile of you and only gives us aggregated statistics. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
  • Hosting and security. Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP addresses and request details to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
  • Emails you send us. If you write to us, we use your message and email address to reply.

We don't run ads, we don't use social media tracking pixels, and we don't sell or share your personal information for advertising.

Cookies and browser storage

Border Pets does not set cookies or store anything in your browser to track you. Our host may occasionally use strictly necessary security cookies to block bots and abuse; these don't track you across sites and don't need consent.

Who we share data with

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, data storage and privacy-friendly analytics (processes data on our behalf).
  • Lemon Squeezy — payment processing and order handling as merchant of record (an independent controller for payment data).
  • Google — our email provider, when you email us or we email you.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights. We don't share it with anyone else.

International transfers

Our providers operate worldwide, and we are based in Vietnam, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, our providers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep data

  • Early-access and route requests: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and no longer than 24 months.
  • Checkouts that were never paid: deleted automatically after 12 months.
  • Paid plans: kept for 3 years so the link in your receipt keeps working, then deleted automatically. Ask us at any time to delete yours sooner.
  • Payment and tax records: kept by Lemon Squeezy for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it to another service. You can withdraw consent at any time, for example by replying "unsubscribe" to any email from us. Email borderpetsinfo@gmail.com and we'll respond within one month.

If you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

California residents: you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law.

Children

Border Pets is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, data is stored with our host, and access is limited to the person who runs Border Pets. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update this page and the date below. If a change is significant, we'll tell people on our email list.
